Man talks after 365 days of silence for animals
James Aspey on the Australian 7 TV Network – January 2015
As it happens, I’d decided to be a vegan before I saw this inspiring work of James Aspey, but a quote of his here has just stuck firmly in my mind. The quote is;
“We all say we love animals and we all are against animal cruelty, but we pay people to mutilate torture and slaughter animals. And it’s not for any necessity, it’s not because we need to for our health, it’s just because we like the way they taste.”
I know for a fact that if I had to kill animals for my food, I could not do it. I would not want to do it. And, I couldn’t treat animals badly, cram them into small shelters, etc., just so that I could make the cost of the food cheaper. None of that really seems right to me any more. So I’ve decided to be a vegan and not to support any of this inhumane treatment of any of the wonderful animals on our planet.
I take my hat off to James Aspey for going to such lengths to highlight to us in the human race, the need for more thought on this topic
Here’s his interview on Australian TV – his first words after 365 days of silence for animals.
