How to Bring Out Your Natural Beauty During Uncertain Times
By Cassie Steele
It’s hard to reconcile the concept of natural beauty with America’s 532 billion dollar beauty industry, but it’s not impossible, especially during uncertain times like these. What is ‘natural beauty’, anyway? It’s surely about more than a fresh-scrubbed face and un-dyed hair. It could be argued that natural beauty is about bringing your true essence out. It’s about letting the world see the person that you truly are. So, how do you bring out that essence which is so authentic and attractive? Well, there are plenty of practical ways to make it happen.
Avoid personal care products with questionable ingredients
Personal care is a vital component of self-care. Caring for your skin during the pandemic will help you to look good without relying on cosmetics, fake tan, or other quick fixes. Good skincare is about purity, so choose products that contain natural, safe, and beneficial ingredients. Examples include olive oil, which features vitamins E, C, and A, and oatmeal, which soothes redness and inflammation. Going for organic personal care products will be a smart strategy. These products offer holistic, whole-body benefits, minus the harsh chemicals in many non-organic personal care products, such as drying sulfates, formaldehyde, and aluminum. So, why not put together a suite of personal care products, from shampoo and deep cleansing oil to deodorant, which promotes overall health and wellness? When you do, you’ll feel clean, fresh, and confident, and your skin and hair may thank you.
Find new stress management techniques
The COVID-19 pandemic is triggering waves of anxiety and depression, according to Psychology Today, and it’s hard to feel naturally beautiful (or handsome, or whatever) when there is a knot in your stomach or a lump in your throat. If you’re struggling to get through the pandemic for any reason, from money woes to feelings of isolation to fears of getting ill, you should own those feelings and try to find stress management techniques that soothe your spirit.
Meditation is definitely something that is well worth a try. Just ten to fifteen minutes of meditation per day is generally enough to boost emotional stability. Meditating regularly can lower blood pressure and reduce stress, according to Prevention. Other practical techniques, such as using time management apps that create structure and boost productivity, or working out from home, may also be very effective. When you’re at peace, you’ll be easier in your own skin, and that kind of serenity always shows.
Help those less fortunate
These days, we see everyday heroes all over the place. They are doctors in emergency rooms, fund-raisers for COVID-19 relief, and others who are going the extra mile to help during the pandemic. These people are doing all that they can to help those in need during these hard times, even though they have problems of their own. If you want the kind of beauty that doesn’t come in a jar or makeup palette. helping others will be a great idea. When you become your best self by caring for others, you’ll feel a sense of fulfillment that helps you to bring out your essence. When you practice kindness, it will show on your face.
As you can see, setting aside a little time to pamper yourself with organic personal care products will help you to feel confident in your natural state. Stress relief techniques will also help you to feel peaceful and productive. Helping others will give your life added depth and meaning that gives you happiness, and this happiness will show on the outside. Now that you know some ways to cultivate your natural beauty during these challenging times, you’ll be ready to put your best foot forward.
