Website – http://www.38degrees.org.uk
Apparently, 38 Degrees is one of the UK’s largest “campaigning communities” with over 2.5 million members and is funded by donations from the general public. The members decide online which campaigns will be pursued. Everything is decided by the members in general.
When describing themselves they say;
38 Degrees brings you together with other people to take action on the issues that matter to you and bring about real change.
Why 38 degrees?
38 Degrees is the angle at which an avalanche happens. In the UK, 38 Degrees will enable people to act together, to create an avalanche for change.
Their website seems to function very well. It’s easy to navigate and well laid out. It’s an impressive site and appears to be a very impressive organization. I don’t have much exposure to this organization yet, but I plan to look into what they’re doing more. Some of the campaigns are a bit close to being political, but the campaigns to save nature interest me.
Here’s an introductory video from them;
