Mercola
I think the first time I saw Dr. Joseph Mercola was on the Simply Raw Movie (I need to check). That prompted me to check out his website and follow him on twitter (you can follow me as @lifeintheright). His website contains a huge amount of information. It’s a good resource.
However, it’s very detailed scientifically, and I don’t think it’s necessary to need to know every detail about everything that goes on in our bodies. It can’t be possible that we need to know about every molecule, every protein, every enzyme, etc., in order to live a healthy, happy and content life. Just living naturally and following the lead from nature should get us living well. I’m also not so happy that a lot of the images on the website are a bit negative. I prefer happy, positive images.
But, I have to reinforce that this website is a good resource for information.
On the website, Dr. Mercola wrote the following personal message;
My passion is to transform the traditional medical paradigm in the United States, and that consumes most of my free time. Since 1968, though, I have been an active runner; I completed the Chicago Marathon in just over three hours, among other accomplishments. I have also been a computer hobbyist since 1985, with an interest in the Internet that dates back to the early 1990s.
The existing medical establishment is responsible for killing and permanently injuring millions of Americans, but the surging numbers of visitors to Mercola.com since I began the site in 1997 – we are now routinely among the top 10 health sites on the Internet – convinces me that you, too, are fed up with their deception. You want practical health solutions without the hype, and that’s what I offer.
I applaud him for such a personal message – especially the second paragraph. Based on the popularity of his website, he’s making a big impact.
Some of the pages I really like are;
- How the FDA is being sued and forced to ban trans fats
