Clean Gut
By Alejandro Junger
Alejandro Junger is a heart surgeon who found he wasn’t really curing people and he was making himself sick at the same time. His story is very interesting and his views on nutrition great. Everyone should read this book to have their eyes opened a little and to learn a lot about how to get the nutrients needed for a normally functioning life into our bodies. Just getting the nutrition right can suddenly allow our bodies to perform as designed and this can easily lead to illnesses apparently disappearing.
This book is a follow-on to Alejandro’s 2009 book, Clean. It has some new information in it and some of the parts are almost duplicated between the two books. When I read Clean Gut, I had the feeling that it was a bit more rushed than when I read Clean. I think I preferred the way he made some of the descriptions in the older book. However, with the new information, I’d recommend Clean Gut if you’re only going to read one of these books.
The chapters of the book are;
- The Root Cause of Disease
- The Patient, the Teacher, and the Doctor
- The Gut: Your Second Brain
- How We Get Sick: Gut Dysfunction
- Survival Disguised as Disease
- The Clean Gut Program
- Guiding Principles for Living Clean for Life
- Plus
- Clean Gut Recipes
- Resources
This is definitely a book that I’m going to read again.
